Visual Design Elements and Principles

Design Elements: Space, Line, Color, Shape, Texture, Form, Value
Design Principles: Unity, Balance, Contrast, Variety, Emphasis

5 items: TV, Refrigerator, Pencils, Wii Console, Paintball Gun

1. TV- Uses Straight and curved lines to give 'luxury' effect. Dark colors contrast often brighter onscreen colors.
2. Refrigerator- Uses Neutral colors (white/black) to keep the temperature cool like on the inside. Straight lines with rounded edges prominent. hadles often Emphasised.
3. Pencils- Hexagonal to promote grip. use only straight lines or lines in constant curves. Shape vitally important to design. Texture creates grip.

4. Wii Console- Neutral color of white creates mood to calm people mad at it because they can't beat Wii Sports. Shape has defined corners and a off-center disk slot. Looks alot like an apple product.

5. PAINTBALL GUN :DDD (hey its household item for me :D) Often Uses curved and indented and extruded lines, taking 2D to 3D. Almost always symmetrical, design's shape is practical, small, and lightweight.
